Masters & Co. Telehealth Services
We understand that it is often difficult for people living or working in rural and remote locations to access the services of a psychologist. The telehealth service means that you can see a psychologist ‘remotely’ using the internet and receive a Medicare rebate.
What is telehealth?
Masters & Co. telehealth is a psychological appointment that is delivered using video conference between you and your psychologist. It is conducted just like a face-to-face session and you will be able to hear, see and communicate with your psychologist from the comfort of your own home. It is similar to connecting with family and friends using FaceTime or Zoom.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible to receive these services under Medicare for a mental health condition, you must live in rural and remote Australia in the Modified Monash Model geographical regions 4-7. This system is based on geographical remoteness and town size. Some of these areas include Margaret River, Collie, Northam, Kalbarri, Augusta, Denmark, Manjimup, Pemberton, Wagin, Williams, Narrogin, Karratha and Esperance, plus many more. To find out if you live in a telehealth eligible area, please visit the MMM website or contact us and we can let you know.
You must also have an eligible mental health condition and a referral from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician.
What do you need to access Telehealth?
A computer or iPad with a reliable internet connection. You could also use your mobile phone via WiFi. We don’t recommend using your phone without WiFi as you may use a lot of data. If you don't have the necessary equipment, it may be possible to access this through your GP or local community centre.
A quiet, private space for your session.
What rebates are available?
If you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. You can claim up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year via telehealth.
