SELF-COMPASSION eBook - Motherhood Edition

A$9.95

This eBook was created as an introduction to self-compassion. From this workbook you may start to consider the impact that practicing self-compassion has on your daily living. Think about how you react and treat yourself after a difficult time. Although there can be feelings of pain, stress, frustration and sadness, I want you to know that we can also love ourselves through this process. Imagine when our children scrape their knee or break up with their first partner in their teen years. Regardless of our child's age/issue we respond by acknowledging their pain and offering kindness. As a result, our kids feel acknowledged and cared for. What a powerful experience, so imagine if we practiced that same approach towards ourselves.

This eBook has 17 pages and has space to fill out answers and reflections.

Think back to the last time you were going through a really difficult time. Perhaps you were finding something challenging in motherhood, or there was a difficult patch you were trying to navigate. These times can be anxiety provoking and painful.

Whilst you're going through this experience, think about what type of friend you want by your side. Would you want your friend to tell you to "get over it, you'll be fine", or "other mothers can get through this, why is this so difficult for you?". Or would you want the type of friend who says "Hey, you're doing great, this is really hard stuff" and "every mother would find this difficult", maybe even "I've got you". The second friend would definately be the one you'd want by your side! This friend was being compassionate.

In this guide I want to introduce you to the concept of compassion, and walk you through some simple ways to be compassionate towards yourself. Motherhood is no doubt one of the most difficult things we do. However we love our kids wholeheartedly and that keeps us going. I want to show you that you can direct some of that wholeheartedness towards yourself. I get how hard this can be, so take time now to see that when we go through these hard times, we can do it whilst experiencing kindness and love.
